Located just West of the Youngstown suburb of Austintown, easily accessed via the Ohio Turnpike or I76 we strive to provide an informative, thorough educational program that will meet all of the requirements of Ohios newly passed concealed carry law.
We respect that our students have made the decision to take the steps to protect themselves and their families and make every effort to accommodate each students needs and expectations while maintaining a competitive price point in our market.
Our classes are taught by a NRA certified instructor (Pistol, Personal Protection and Refuse To Be A Victim) as well as IDPA certified Safety Officer. The chief instructor of this course is also the Mahoning County Coordinator for the Buckeye Firearms Association, as such has first hand experience working directly with the legislators in gaining passage of the law. This allows our program to offer the most accurate, up-to-date information on important aspects of the new law as it is clarified by the Attorney Generals office and in the courts around the state.

Due to the complexity of the range work done in this course, this course will only be offered during the warm weather months (May - September) as we MUST utilize the outdoor range for this class.
Renewal of certification:
Thanks to changes made by S.B. 184 recertification is no longer required within 6 years of initial training but instead before renewing a license after the initial 6 year period of training has elapsed. Recertification NO LONGER is required before the previous 6 year expiration, but instead only before the RENEWAL AFTER the 6 year expiration. This will greatly simplify the training recertification process.
Thanks to this we are suspending our plans to begin offering recertification beginning Fall 2008 as this will be much earlier than needed. Those issued licenses "right out of the gate" in 2004 will not need to renew their certification until just before their 2013 renewal!

The Basic Pistol/Ohio CCW class runs 8:00am-6:00pm on Saturday, 8:00am - 12:00am or so on Sunday. Each student will only likely be required about 3 hours range time on Sunday as we break the class up in shifts during the range portion of the class. Weather and other facility activities will dictate the use of the indoor or outdoor range. Students MAY bring a pistol both days but NO ammunition is allowed in the class room on Saturdays. You will be asked to wait inside the foyer to have your pistol checked for safety if brought on Saturday. The Personal Protection Outside the home course runs 8:00am-5:00pm on Saturday, 8:00am - 2:00pm or so on Sunday.
Students successfully completing the course will receive a certificate of completion from the NRA as documentation which attests that the course completed met all of the criteria set forth by Ohio law.
